April 11, 1968 - July 22, 2020 Ohio Chapter 26 Sons of AMVETS Dion was known to be very loving, generous, a great listener, and a good friend. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking rides on his motorcycle for fun and for charity, being at the shooting range, grilling out with family and friends, and listening to music. He loved his family dearly and was very proud of his son, Kyle.

July 3, 1966 - July 17, 2020 Michigan 1957 AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Not only was Sonya a loyal member, she was a treasurer of both the Ladies Auxiliary and the Riders for several years. Saying Sonya was an active member is an understatement, she was always there with a helping hand for all post functions from shopping for Christmas baskets to helping organize the golf tournament to helping with every pot luck and dinner. Sonya was an avid U of M football fan and loved watching NASCAR. She will be loved and missed forever. June 27, 1938 - March 1, 2020 Kentucky Chapter 61 Branch of Service: Navy Lee. B. Dobbs, 81, husband to the late Juanita Dobbs, passed away with his family at his side on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Lee was a proud Navy Veteran that served 23 years with three tours of Vietnam and was also an active member of AMVETS Post 61, Louisville, KY. He is survived by his children, Bill Adkins (AMVETS Department of KY Commander) wife Theresa, Tim Adkins (Yolanda), Leslie Bodine, James Adkins (Missi), and Tony Delph (Christie) along with 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. April 30, 1951 - December 9, 2019
Ohio 1994 Sons of AMVETS Terry was a Sons member and also was very much into both Sons and Riders. Could never ask for a better person in my eyes and life. Taken away too soon after battling cancer three different times. RIP Terry (Mike) Fleece. January 16, 1959 - December 6, 2019 Wisconsin Chapter 13 Branch of Service: Army When tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, For every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart. Brian. WOW what a guy! Served in the Army and was damn proud of it. A true American, Friend, devoted husband and father. Brian loved to help anyone anywhere and you could always count on him. He didn't think much of himself but he knew he could help you no matter what. Ride free brother you will be remembered forever August 14, 1956 - August 17, 2019 Alaska Chapter 2 AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Irene loved our veterans, she was a big supporter of veterans issues, she always would question of the functions put together by the AMVETS Riders or AMVETS, how will this help the veterans. If she found it worthy, she would give her full support. Irene will be riding with us through the Forever Chapter forever. October 1, 1944 - May 13, 2019
Indiana Chapter 91 Branch of Service: Navy You will be missed deeply. May you rest easy, my man. Forever yours. November 17th, 1940 - March 10th, 2019 New York Chapter 245 Branch of Service: Air Force Fred Served as the Post 245 Chaplain and as our liaison with the Bath V.A. hospital. He served these positions. with nothing but, grace, dignity and reverence Although Fred started riding late in life he loved going out and riding when ever he could. He rode an old Honda 350 with training wheels and took a lot of good natured ribbing about it. But he was always welcome and a good friend to everyone he met. Fred was most proud of his children and his grandkids, and spoke of them often. February 4th, 1949 - February 20th, 2018 Ohio Chapter 51 Branch of Service: Army One of the nicest guys you would ever met. He lived life to the fullest and did what he loved. |
Last ChapterThe AMVETS Riders would like to honor all those faithful Riders who have passed from this life to the next. Their voices and the the roar of their motorcycles have been stilled, but their names and faces are indelibly etched in our hearts and minds. Their passing has left a void that will never be filled, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve and ride alongside them. We were blessed to know them, and we pray that God will bless us to be reunited when it is our time to take the final ride. Now as they ride forever free across the heavens, these AMVETS Riders are part of an eternal fellowship, Archives
