Chapter 76 – Ohio
November 14, 1 960 – April 2, 2025

LADIES AUXILIARY

Pamela Dishong Washburn, 64, of Coolville, passed away April 2, 2025,at her residence from an extended illness.

She was born November 14, 1960, in Sheltering Arms Hospital in Athens, OH, thedaughter of the late Harold “Burt” and Mary Frances (Hatfield) Dishong.
She retired from Federal Hocking Local School District, where she was a bus driver. Pam also loved traveling, riding motorcycles with her husband, her time working as a bar manager at various establishments and being around her family and friends. She was a member of the AMVETS Post #76 Auxiliary and AMVETS 76 Riders, by whom she leaves behind many dear friends. She was always a caring and loving person – she volunteered at many functions for various organizations.

Before and after Pam’s cancer diagnosis, she had the sweetest smile the biggest heart and was so strong and clear to the end. She will be missed! <3

Chapter 12 – Indiana
December 20, 1960 – January 19, 2025

Randy was born December 20, 1960. He was instrumental in starting Indiana Chapter 12 and ensured Our Riders Chapter had everything we needed and supported every event. The Family has requested that our Chapter President handle the Death Benefit and the Chapter Members Present any benefits that National AMVETS Riders approves.

Chapter 23 – Texas
September 17, 1955 – June 26, 2024

SONS OF AMVETS

Gilberto Raul Gonzalez was born on Saturday, September 17, 1955, in Dallas to Mr. Gilberto Gonzalez and Marianita Garcia Gonzalez. He was raised in Mesquite and a 1975 graduate of North Mesquite High School, where he was active in the ROTC program. He was an incredibly talented painter and autobody technician. His father owned an autobody shop in Dallas for many years and closed the shop in 1972. In 2005, Roy reopened his father’s shop under the name G&S Collision. Roy proudly ran the shop until last year when his health required him to sell the shop. He met the love of his life, Cathy Marie Dean on March 8, 2021, and they married at Lake Tawakoni on December 9, 2023.

Roy was active in the Sons of Amvets, Amvets Post 23 in Dallas and Amvets Post 36 in Tawakoni, where he served as Rider’s president, Son’s commander, and Son’s state commander. He was very active until his retirement due to his declining health. Roy had a compassionate heart for others and giving spirit for all.

Chapter 71 – Ohio
April 29, 1953 – May 31, 2024

AMVET – MARINE

Ray was a longtime member of Ohio AMVETS (American Veterans) in Fairfield . During his time he has served as, District Commander, 8 years as Commander of Post Ohio 71 . In 2009, Ray started the Chapter 71 Riders group, and served as President until his passing. Needless to say Ray accumulated many friends throughout his tenure.

Bobby was a great friend and the first to volunteer. He loved his family and his fellow riders. He loved to ride and have a good time. He will be greatly missed.

AMVETS

Pat was an awesome friend. He loved having a good time and helping people. He helped several of his friends to apply and receive several benefits from the VA. He love riding. His Motorcycle has over 100,000 miles on it. He always wanted a T-shirt at ever event/ride that he did.
He always said that would keep the memories
fresh in his mind. He will be greatly missed.

This event with Santa and giving presents to a Veteran family and kids always brought tears to his eyes. HIS MOST FAVORITE RIDE!!​
