Behind the Program: A Message from our Former National President – Natalie Cummings
I proudly served for over 36 years in various positions throughout the AMVETS Family, and becoming the National AMVETS Riders President and the First woman ever elected to National President has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Over the years, my focus has evolved—today, one of my main goals during my tenure was bringing awareness to Veteran suicide prevention. I am proud to say that today, it is a permanent program at our organization.
Through the “We Got You” Program, we strive to remind every Veteran that they are part of a family that stands beside them—anytime, any day. Our motivation comes from every Rider, every Veteran, and every story that reminds us why we serve: because it matters, and because they matter.
You can call 988 ext 1 day or night and someone will be there to answer the call. WE GOT YOU isn’t a saying, it is a promise. We will be there for you however you need us.
